My bed for the three nights. On the left is my sleeping bag I've had for years now, and on the right you can see two fleece blankets folded in such a way that the area around my shoulders is thick and the area around my waste is thin. My legs don't get any comfort from the blankets at all. The fleece blankets served as a mattress; It's a bit stiff and not very wide, but except for that the comfort level is comparable to an air mattress. It has a major advantage over air mattresses though, you can carry fleece blankets around in your backpack without noticing them, whereas air mattresses are very heavy.
